DHI runs a Recovery Hub in Midsomer Norton, a building that houses a variety of services that we and other organisations run in order to offer a full service to local people who need support. The Hub is partly funded by Bath & North East Somerset Council.

Services we Provide

Overview

Our Reach Support Service provides practical and emotional support to people who have difficulties with their accommodation, or who may be homeless or at risk of homelessness. The service helps people to live independently and develop useful life skills.

What we do

The Reach Floating Support Service provides a combination of practical and emotional support to help people live independently and develop useful life skills.

It is run jointly by DHI, and Stonham and Curo.

The support it offers includes advice on housing, benefits, and managing debts; it can also refer clients to other specialist agencies.

It can help people to:

• Find suitable housing
• Maintain their current housing
• Understand their housing rights and responsibilities
• Deal with rent or mortgage arrears
• Budget effectively
• Access employment, training and educational courses or services
• Set up a new home

DHI and the Specialist Drug and Alcohol Services organisation offer services for people with alcohol or drug problems from The Recovery Hub.

What we do

Services offered to support individuals with drug and alcohol concerns available at the hub include:

  • counselling
  • group sessions
  • psychological therapies
  • advice and information
  • prescribing services 
  • support for families and carers.

A service specifically for young people is also offered by Project 28.

The Clean Slate Training & Employment offer advice sessions and support for people looking for education, employment or training opportunities, and who have additional barriers to engageing.

What we do

The service offered by Clean Slate Training & Employment organisation finds temporary and permanent jobs for long-term unemployed people who may have a history of homelessness, mental ill-health, offending, or drug or alcohol misuse.
